Lyrics
The Days of Rock / Album Truth / January 19 2019
Lyrics by Paul Dempsey
(v1)
It began with a strange beat
One never heard before
It made you want to move
There were screams for more
(v2)
Some said it was evil
It would rot your brain
The music was bad
And the words profane
(chorus)
But it was so mesmerizing
The door was unlocked
Like a ticking clock
It was the beginning
The beginning of
The days of rock
(v3)
It was like a tidal wave
It just kept rolling on
It had no limitations
The breaking of a new dawn
(v4)
The influences were many
As it rode the beat
Expressing a freedom
Floating on dancing feet
(chorus)
And it was so mesmerizing
The door was unlocked
Like a ticking clock
It was the beginning
The beginning of
The days of rock
(bridge)
Forbidden messages hidden within
There was no evil there was no sin
An inner release that hasn’t ceased
And it never will, rock on and on and on
(chorus)
