Lyrics
Making Ends Meet
Lyrics by Paul Dempsey/California
(v1)
Many struggle making ends meet
Seems there is always a gap
They know something has to give
It’s like an inescapable trap
(v2)
The decision is never easy
Do they pay rent or do they eat
Either way, it doesn’t matter
They aren’t making ends meet
(chorus)
Sometimes life can seem pointless
They work hard all the time
Only to find they’ve fallen behind
It’s like an endless cycle
That only seems to repeat
When trying to make ends meet
(v3)
They try being proud and brave
And they seldom complain
But their faces truly reveal
Their inner turmoil and pain
(bridge)
But they hold onto the dream
That one day they’ll succeed
They’ll get what they need
And reclaim some self-esteem
(chorus)
Sometimes life can seem pointless
They work hard all the time
Only to find they’ve fallen behind
It’s like an endless cycle
That only seems to repeat
When trying to make ends meet
