Lyrics
Stake Your Claim
Lyrics Paul Dempsey/California
(v1)
They say you’re going to lose
You don’t stand a chance
But that’s the kind of news
That helps you make a stance
(v2)
You’ll win if you give your best
And it doesn’t matter the score
View each one as life’s test
And they should not be ignored
(chorus)
So, stake your claim, get in the game
It's time for all to know your name
The path ahead is for sure
You’re standing at the door
Just go on in, you’re going to win
Then go ahead and do it again
(v3)
Steal the moment like a master thief
Slip in through the door
In that moment hold the belief
Be confident, be sure
(v4)
But sometimes you’re just going to fail
It happens to us all
It’s just life trying to balance the scale
Whether it’s big or small
(chorus)
So, stake your claim, get in the game
It's time for all to know your name
The path ahead is for sure
You’re standing at the door
Just go on in, you’re going to win
Then go ahead and do it again
