Lyrics
Waiting For The River To Rise
Lyrics Paul Dempsey
(v1)
It’s another year of drought
The mountains have little snow
The river has nearly dried out
There’s only a trickle of a flow
(v2)
They say it will be a hard year
But the waters will run again
Some watch for it to reappear
Others can’t wait till then
(chorus)
Waiting on the unknown
And having no control
Can be heartbreaking
It can take its toll
Some people waste their lives
Waiting for the river to rise
(v3)
For me I choose to move on
To find my own destiny
I’ve no desire to be a pawn
Waiting around helplessly
(bridge)
My river will flow based on what I know
Not on the summer rains or winter snow
(chorus)
Waiting on the unknown
And having no control
Can be heartbreaking
It can take its toll
Some people waste their lives
Waiting for the river to rise
